3 Original Ideas & Research For each idea do the following:
    Describe the idea
Include at least 3 links to sites you looked at to determine the originality of your idea
For each site, explain what you discovered (Include a picture if helpful)
Ex. Our first idea is to develop a bowl that young kids cannot spill easily. The first site I went to www.kidsbowls.comand found a flat, plate-like mat that sticks to the table and does not move. My idea is three-dimensional and includes a bowl. However, I like the thought of adding a mat to my bowl to make it steadier. The second site ….. The third site …….

    TOP 3 IDEAS:
    - The Scuba Spotter (final decision)
Description: The Underwater Spotter is meant for scuba diving or snorkeling goggles. The spotters are two circular magnifying glasses attached on hinges to the top of the scuba goggles. This invention is convenient for marine biologists to get up close to the object they are studying/pondering. This invention will excel so much with marine biology that people won't even remember what marine biology was.

    http://www.diversdirect.com/scuba-diving/diving-accessories/dive-light/princeton-tec-sector-7-dive-light
The web sights for The Scuba Spotter have proved that the invention has not been invented.
    - Non Rip Planner
Description: This invention is a plastic covering for planner pages that protects them from getting ripped and torn up. The Non Rip Planner goes tightly into almost any type of three ring binder. The plastic covering is labeled with all main subjects. This product will be very convenient to students all across the world with organization being easier than ever before.

These designs are basically identical to The Non Rip Planner. So with that said, this idea has already been invented.
    -The Spare Pencil
Description: Have you ever sharpened a pencil so short to where it is to small to write with? No need to fear! The Spare Pencil is a brilliant invention that allows you to have an extra pencil for when your old pencil gets too short to write with. There is absolutely no hassle of going back to your locker or where ever you may keep your boring old pencils. With The Spare Pencil, you will never want to go back to regular old #2 pencils, or whatever you want to call those wannabes.

    http://www.givesimple.com/Double-Sided-Colored-Pencils
    http://blog.eeboo.net/tag/eeboo-double-sided-pencils/
These web sights showed the roughly the same design as the original idea for The Spare Pencil; therefor, The Spare Pencil has already been invented.
    Planning:
Use your research to choose the invention you like best. How did the research help your team decide which invention you wanted to bring to life?
    1. Who can you talk to if you need help to solve problems & build your final product?
    2. What materials do you need to build your invention or prototype?
    3. Where do you plan to get those materials?
    4. How are you keeping the cost of your device low?
    5. What are the steps needed to build your invention?
    6. How will you test your invention?
    7. How can you be sure your invention is safe?
    Planning Answers:
    1. Our parents (Steve Nickoloff, Tim Ying, and William Byrne).
    2. Miniature magnifying glasses, bungie cord, and scuba goggles.
    3. Amazon, Target, Sporting goods stores, etc.
    4. Look at the smallest prices of the materials we need.
    5. Mark goggles with sharpie to establish where the magnifying glasses will go on the goggles. Next we will attache the magnifying glasses to the scuba goggles. Then we will secure the glasses to the goggles with the bungie cord which we will tie around the glasses.
    6. By dunking it in water and seeing if it lasts. Also we will wear them underwater to see if they work properly.
    7. By opening our eyes while wearing them. Also we will test them underwater while wearing them to see if they fit good, feel good, and are 100% safe.

    We started with the materials
we needed to make our invention.

    {Photo on 3-9-16 at 2.57 PM.jpg}
    We placed the mini magnifying
    glasses on the scuba goggles
to see where they fit best.

    {Photo on 3-16-16 at 1.48 PM.jpg}
The final product is finished. We
    ended the building process by
cutting slits in the goggle strap to
    allow the magnifying glasses to
stay on the goggles. When that
wasn't enough, we used hot glue
    to secure the magnifying glasses
    to the goggles.
